About Rattan Furniture
We are a South African outdoor furniture company specialising in high-quality rattan furniture and professional rattan furniture refurbishment. Under new ownership, we continue to build on established craftsmanship with a renewed focus on quality, durability, and personalised service.
All our furniture is made using local materials and local labour. Each piece is individually hand-woven by skilled local weavers to ensure attention to detail and long-lasting results. In addition to manufacturing new rattan furniture, we also refurbish existing rattan furniture by reusing the original frames and reweaving them, where suitable, to extend the life of outdoor pieces.
Our furniture frames are made from aluminium, which is one of the most suitable materials for outdoor furniture. Aluminium is lightweight, strong, and rust-resistant, making it ideal for South African outdoor conditions, including coastal and inland environments. All frames are powder coated to protect against corrosion, wear, and weather-related damage, resulting in durable, low-maintenance outdoor furniture.
During refurbishment, existing aluminium frames are reused, provided they are in suitable condition. We do not offer structural repairs; however, minor repairs may be carried out where possible. The removal of existing coating or finishes is not a standard service and is only done on request, depending on the condition of the furniture.
Once frames are complete or refurbished, they are hand-woven using high-quality, locally manufactured rattan made from virgin HDPE. This rattan is designed specifically for outdoor use and is UV resistant, weather and temperature resistant, moisture resistant, strong, durable, lightweight, easy to clean, scratch resistant, fade resistant, and 100% recyclable.
To complete each piece, we offer custom-made outdoor cushions produced by local seamstresses using premium outdoor fabrics. These fabrics are weatherproof, colourfast, and carry a minimum one-year guarantee. Customers can choose from a wide range of fabric colours and designs to suit residential or commercial outdoor spaces.
